The ideal candidate will lead key projects to help our business grow. Projects include; new production line installations, automation, capacity expansions, safety & quality improvements. Will be involved with the designing, evaluating and implementation of the manufacturing process. Additionally, the candidate will aim to improve the manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, automation and equipment layout.
Works under immediate supervision. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
Responsibilities:
- Design mechanical systems for new, or modify existing, automated machinery to automate manufacturing process
- Conduct tests and studies to support efforts to modify new equipment & processes and verify functionality of existing equipment & processes
- Build, buy and install equipment and tools for production as needed
- Participate in safety efforts
- Complies with all company policies and procedures-including health, safety & environmental regulations
- Provides technical assistance and guidance to internal departments and management team to resolve issues
- Conducts research to develop and test new processes and procedures that will modify current methods or improve existing methods
- Develop routings of operations to fabricate and assemble parts in the most cost effective manner
Typical Education and Relevant Experience:
- BS in ME, EE, Automation, or related field or equivalent experience
- 0-3 years of experience in the HVAC industry or in a related area preferred but not required
- Must be able to read and understand blueprints, work orders and electrical schematics
- Mechanically inclined, strong problem solving skills and a “hands-on” individual
- Must be able to apply lean principles to increase efficiency and minimize WIP
- Computer proficiency: Microsoft Office (Excel); Auto Cad a plus
- Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
Pay: From $55,000.00 per year
